About Carla
Carla is a young woman with a disability. She had joint problems with mobility issues. She had previously been a dancer in her life.
Beginning the Confidence Building Session
I began the session by explaining a bit about Mindfulness Based Inner RePatterning™ and the process. I explained I the pre-frame and just allowing the flow without any criticism, analysis or judgement.
I then asked her what she would like to work on today. She said she felt weak, a feeling really, partly due to her health, but also her relationships with her partner and medical professionals.
I asked her what she wanted from the session, she said she wanted to be more positive about herself and say what she needed. She wanted to be more confident, assertive with medical professionals and her partner.
I asked her how she knows she has this weak feeling, she said she just knows. I explained that it’s important we get a specific outcome as that will allow us to test how well the session has worked at the end.
I suggested she closed her eyes and take a few breaths and do a body scan from head to toe and check if she can locate that weak feeling and anything associated to it. She closed her eyes, breathed gently and said she felt it in her eyes, and they felt hard, her heart and stomach, both of which felt like they were fluttering. She paused and then went on to say she also felt it at the back of her head, she felt pressure around her ears. She also had some pain around her legs and her wrist but felt that was due to her Arthritis.
I asked her what specifically she feels she wants from the session, what needs to happen for her to know that she no longer has this issue. She said she feels like she wants to put her heart into things more. I asked her how she would know that was happening; she said her heart would feel stronger. I asked her to rate it at the moment from 1-10 in terms of the level of weakness; she gave it a 3/10. I asked her what she would like it to be at the end of the session, she laughed and said 10/10, but realistically 8/10 (I realised she was counting 10 at the optimum level and went with it)
So I summarised by saying that she wanted the weakness in her heart to be at an 8/10 by the end of the session, she nodded in agreement.
Creating a Safe Zone to Facilitate Confidence to Release Blocks
We created the safe zone by me showing her where the thymus is located and asking her to gently tap on it, becoming aware of her breath and breathing more fully, feeling the rise and fall of her stomach as she breathed. I then asked her to look ahead and gently look slightly above by an inch and then soften her eyes to move into the peripheral vision, I held my hand up at the side of her head and wiggled my fingers. I explained that this beautiful relaxed state is key to the session and I may well ask her to tap gently, breathe slowly and stay in the peripheral vision as a gentle reminder during the session.
I then explained that we would now set an intention for the session, I would read the words and she just needed to listen to my words and breathe and allow the words to filter into her energy field as I read the intention, I would pause after each paragraph and invite her to breathe and allow the words to enter. I then read the intention to her.
I asked her to continue to tap gently, breathe slowly and stay in that lovely peripheral vision whilst she put her awareness on the issue and all the things/feelings/sensations attached to it and gently place all of it outside of herself, so that she could see it like an observer. I asked her to let me know when she had done that. After a few moments she said ‘it’s there, it’s already shifted some of it’.
I asked her to accept whatever is there, without any criticism or judgement, just allowing it to be.
I then asked her to notice what she is experiencing internally now. She said she felt her heart itself is pushing it out; she’s starting to feel a bit stronger and feeling like she has more positive thoughts in her brain.
I asked her if there was a colour that could truly enhance what she is feeling right now in an even more wonderful way, what would it be? She said “yellow, it’s a yellow with a pale pink”. I asked her to bring in the beautiful yellow with the pale pink right from the top of her head to her toes, allowing it to flow into her heart, throughout every cell, molecule of her body until she felt immersed in those beautiful colours.
After a few moments of doing this she I asked her if there was any other colour that really magnify what she was feeling right now in an even more wonderful way. She said cyan and a purple, the colours were mixed together ‘is that okay?’ she asked. I replied ‘of course, just go with whatever comes through for you’. As she breathed in the cyan and the purple she smiled and physically relaxed further, I talked her through breathing it in to the heart and every part of herself, her aura and her energy field.
After a few minutes, I asked her to check in on the external issue; again reminding her there is no criticism or judgment, just a process of allowing. I asked her to take a few breaths and continue tapping (she had stopped as she was viewing the issue). She then said She felt like the heart problem felt small enough to hold in her hand right now, it did not hurt and felt like she can hold it and say it doesn’t matter anymore’.
I then asked her to bring her awareness back to herself as if again she is observing that heart issue, I then asked her if there was a colour that could further enhance what she was feeling right now in an even more wondrous way what would that be?, she said white. So again I talked her through breathing in that brilliant white colour, really magnifying its brightness as she pulled it into her heart, throughout every cell, molecule and muscular and bone (this felt important as she has joint problems) of her body, allowing it to gently permeate into her aura and throughout her energy field. I encouraged her to really bask in that brilliant white and enjoy the feelings that it was bringing her.
After a few minutes, I asked her if there was any other colour that could enhance what she was feeling right now in an even more wonderful way. She said ‘well it’s not really a colour; I see a pearl (she smiled) and it’s a bit of a weird vision I’m walking in the pearl (she paused) and my arms are in a diving position’. She went on to say. She felt like she was walking forward (momentous for her as she has mobility issues). I reassured her it was okay to just go with the vision and feelings, this is her process and important to go with whatever comes to her. I again talked her through the colour flushing, but changed the words to include vision and feeling, I asked her to really magnify and intensify the colours and vibrancy and the motion of moving forward in the pearl.
I reminded her to continue focusing on her lovely slow rhythmic breaths and the relaxed peripheral vision. She seemed to relax physically, even further into her chair and her face softened.
She smiled as she said “I’m dancing in the pearl”
After a few minutes, I asked her if there were any other colours, visions or motions that could enhance what she was feeling right now to an even more wonderful way for her. She smiled as she said “I’m dancing in the pearl” (again this was momentous for Carla, she used to be a dancer) I encouraged her to really bring in the joy and happiness that she felt dancing in that pearl into her heart, ramping up the feelings, the colours, the image so it was really vivid. Really pulling it into every cell, molecule, hair, bone and muscle of her body, into her aura and her energy field, really enjoying that joyful experience of dancing in that pearl. As she did this, I saw her sitting up slightly as though the spine was lengthening with confidence.
After a few moments, I asked her to very gently take her awareness to the issue she had placed outside of her herself, as she did this, she said ‘I’m not holding it anymore. It’s dissipating!’
I then asked her to bring her awareness to herself and check some of her physical symptoms; I asked her how her eyes felt. She said with a smile ‘they feel light and glowy’. I asked her how her heart felt, she said ‘really relaxed’ and then I asked her how her stomach felt she said ‘light, there’s nothing to worry about’.
I asked her if there was anything else that could truly enhance this experience, of these amazing feelings any more for her. She said there was no colour coming to mind, just an image and a vision of her self in a pearl, she sees stepping stones going up and feels herself floating. I again reassured her that it’s okay to go with that image and the feelings it brings and again we repeated the colour flush process to include being in a pearl and floating up the stairs. I encouraged her to really bask in the feelings and the sensations and allow them to permeate throughout her heart, her body, her cells, muscles, bones, fibres and throughout her energy field.
“it feels like I’m sat on it and wrapped in it like a blanket”
I then asked her again if there was any other colour, image, vision or feeling that could truly enhance that feeling that she was feeling right now, what would it be? After a few moments she said she saw a crescent moon, it feels peaceful (she physically relaxed into her chair as she said this) ’it feels like I’m sat on it and wrapped in it like a blanket’. I encouraged her to stay in that lovely peripheral vision, softening her eyes slightly as she bought in that peaceful experience of being wrapped in the crescent moon into her heart, really ramping up the vibrancy of colours, that experience of being peaceful and wrapped up. Breathing it into every cell and fibre of her being. Basking in that experience, taking a few deep breaths as she relaxed into that crescent moon even further.
After a few moments, I asked her to take her awareness to the issue we had placed outside of herself, she said it was ‘really tiny’ now. So I asked her if there was any other colour, image, vision or emotion that could really enhance what she was feeling right now, and release anything else related to that issue what would it be? She said a ‘really pale blue’ after a moment she went on to say’ it’s a river, it seems fast, but is actually slow, it’s a nice feeling, it feels like its pushing things away and cleansing. She continued to smile gently as I talked her through the process of allowing the pale blue river to wash and cleanse away anything that she doesn’t need, enjoying the slow pace and the nice feeling this river bought and again bringing it into her heart, her cells, molecules and body as well as her energy field. (This felt like the cleansing was really important to her, so I stayed with the part of the process a bit longer, allowing her to really relax and enjoy the feelings).
I then asked her to gently take her awareness of the external issue, she said ‘it seems really tiny now; I can see myself looking at it. It’s a really small clump of soil’. As our session was nearly over I asked her if it felt okay to leave that small clump of soil there for today, she said ‘yes, it’s very comfortable; it feels okay to leave it there’.
“….I feel really good’
I asked her to gently bring her awareness inwards to check on her eyes, stomach and heart, she said ‘I see blue, I can see the colour and it feels good…I feel really good’. I asked her how the pressure around her head felt, ‘really good’ she said. I then asked her about her pain in her legs and wrist, she said they were also ‘good, a lot lighter’. She felt like she was “floaty”.
I then asked her to place her palm gently onto her heart, with the other hand on top, gently taking a few breaths and allowing anything that is blocking her from inner joy and peace to be released now. I then said ‘when you are ready, in your own time, return gently to the room and open your eyes and wiggling your fingers and toes if needed’.
‘Amazing! I felt like I was really there dancing in the pearl and I could feel the water in my toes, it really felt like I was walking forward’.
As she opened her eyes, I noticed her eyes looked brighter; she seemed much more physically relaxed. I asked her how she felt, she said ‘Amazing! I felt like I was really there dancing in the pearl and I could feel the water in my toes, it really felt like I was walking forward’. She seemed a bit lost for words and overwhelmed by the experience. I offered her some water.
I then asked her on a scale of 1/10 how she now felt about the heart issue, she said ‘it feels like a 10/10 now! Really great, I can’t believe I could feel the water flowing through my toes (she looked down at her feet as she said it)”.
I encouraged her to drink more water and to keep drinking over the next few days. After checking she was fully back in the room and in reality I thanked her and ended the session.
Post-Session
We sat down and Zahrah talked me through how the session will go and what it would entail. I felt totally at ease and relaxed.
As the session went on, I felt even more relaxed than at the beginning. Zahrah’s soothing voice helped me really get into the session.
The colours and visions that I was getting were amazing and the issue we were trying to overcome, well I can honestly say I have been on a high mentally since. I couldn’t stopped smiling and I really can’t thank Zahrah enough for making me feel worthy of this fantastic feeling.
