Working with Autism (ASD) using EFT
The number of people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder is increasing yearly. Autism is considered a neurodevelopmental condition whose onset is generally in early childhood. ASD is characterized by difficulties in social engagement as well as verbal and non-verbal communication and behavioral issues.
Autism Statistics
Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT as it is more commonly known, is a powerful therapy technique. In the UK, there are estimated to be 700,000 autistic people (1) 1 in 100. In the USA, the CDC estimates that figure to be 1 in 44 children thought to be on the spectrum (2).
About EFT
EFT is an energy therapy. It works by influencing the body’s energy system. EFT involves tapping or touching acupoints on the upper body and face whilst tuning into “the problem” and helping bring the body back to a balanced state. Extensive research has been conducted on EFT for its effectiveness with many different issues.
Using EFT with Autism
In this video interview for my EFT Unleashed series, I interview Eve Bednarska about her work with children diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. Eve shares her tips for using EFT with autism. She also shares her own experiences having a child who is diagnosed as having ASD.
